Company origin:
“Letters of Love is a nonprofit that provides emotional support to patients in children’s hospitals worldwide. The inspiration behind Letters of Love is my mom, who was diagnosed with leukemia when I was ten. To show her our love and support, my sisters and I created cards to decorate her hospital room. Those cherished memories fueled my desire to help others facing similar battles. In my junior year of high school, I wanted to create an opportunity for young people to make a difference without financial burden. In September 2018, I launched Letters of Love as a club at Orono High School, where students could make cards and support items for patients at the Children’s Hospital of Minnesota. Since then, we’ve grown tremendously, now donating to over 60 hospitals and operating 270 active chapters across the nation. We’ve received cards from over 18 countries, supporting more than 248,000 patients globally”
Testimonials:
“LOL’s mission is something that I deeply believe in and support wholeheartedly. I have seen with my own eyes the effect the letters have had on my five year old son, Noah. The letters bolster his confidence and put smiles on his face. They remind him of how strong and courageous he is amidst such a challenging time facing a life-threatening condition which he will be working with for the rest of his life. LOL is reshaping his life and is throwing out a lifeline for a child born with only half a heart.” -Noah’s mom
“I see how much these kids go through every day and something so small like getting a card from Bluey helps cheer my baby up.” - Liam’s dad
“Letters of Love is one of the brightest lights in our daughter’s journey with Leukemia. It means so much to her when she receives a bundle of handmade cards and trinkets. The wonderful notes and drawn pictures remind our girl that she is supported, loved, and prayed for! I’m so excited to see how LOL develops and the influence their mission will have with other families and journeys as well!.” -Nora’s mom
